I sent some of my Grab and Go bags to be reviewed by Mike at the Custom Gear Report. He captured my intent with these designs much better than I could:

“At initial glace this reminds me of a modern day version of a cartridge box or shot pouch and powder horn that would hang behind a minuteman’s door ready to be thrown over his shoulder on the way out of the house. Some more current applications might be by a soldier’s bed side, a patrolman’s trunk or behind the door of a prepared citizen.”

The Shotgun Grab and Go was made with the input of a retired LEO. He wanted a Shotgun Grab and Go that could hold a lot of shotgun ammunition, and he wanted three pouches: one for buckshot; one for slugs; and one for “other” (breaching rounds or less-than-lethal shells). That way a person could tell what type of rounds they were loading in their shotgun without having to look at the shells. Each of the three pouches can hold an entire 25-round box of shot shells. The shells are held secure by a wide flap and a generous piece of Velcro. But what if you don’t want to carry that much ammunition? What if you only want to carry 5 or 10 shells? With those questions in mind I put shock cord along the lip of each pouch. If you want to carry 1 shell or 20, you pull the shock cord down to close the top of the pouch, and then tighten the Cord-Loc to hold it in place. Since the shock cord is elastic, you can still slide your hand into the pouch and grab a shell even when the opening of the pouch has been collapsed.

He also wanted a flashlight pouch to hold a SureFire G2-sized flashlight. If your flashlight is a different size, I can adjust the pouch to fit. Email me the dimensions of your flashlight (height x width x depth).
One last thing he wanted was a waist belt. I had not put waist belts on any of the Grab and Go designs because as an old Marine Corps grunt, I detest anything hanging off the sides of gear. If the hardware is not in use, it just gets caught in branches and bushes and fences; and dangling hardware always bangs against your firearm at the worst possible moment, killing your noise discipline. So I designed the waist belt so that if you didn’t want to use the belt itself, you could stow the belt in the rear pocket, and secure the buckles under elastic webbing. I felt that the buckles needed to be secured to the front of the Grab and Go (not the back) so there would be less chance of the buckles getting damaged.

Each of the Grab and Go bags has a shoulder strap that is made out of an adjustable six foot piece of 2” 17337 webbing. 2” 17337 webbing has a breaking strength of 2200 lbs, so your Grab and Go will be secure. The six foot length of the strap means that it is adjustable to anyone’s torso, no matter how tall you are, and should be able to fit over most armor carriers, too.

Each of the Grab and Go bags also has a rear pocket that is the same size as the overall panel. It is held closed with 1” Velcro that runs the entire width of the opening of the pocket, so anything stored in the rear pocket will be secure.
